Trusted Trades: how Irish tradesmen are winning Google together (without the guild fees)

Every good tradesman already has a list in his head. The sparks he'd trust in his own house. The plumber who turns up when he says he will. The plasterer who leaves a wall you could photograph. You vouch for these people every week — 'ring this fella, he's sound' — and you get nothing for it, and neither do they, beyond the favour. Trusted Trades is just that, made to work for both of you.

The simple version

You tell us the tradesmen you actually rate. We link your websites together. So when your customer needs a trade you don't do, your site points them at someone you trust — and their site points their customers back at you. You send each other work. There's no fee for it, we take no cut, and you can drop a connection any time you want, instantly, no penalty.

A solar customer needs an electrician for the consumer unit. Your name is the electrician on the solar installer's site. That's a warm, pre-qualified job landing in your lap without you lifting a finger. That's the whole idea.

And it quietly builds your Google ranking

Here's the bit that compounds. When another real, local Irish trade website links to yours, Google reads it as a genuine business vouching for you. That's called a backlink, and it's one of the biggest things Google weighs when it decides who shows up first. Every trade you connect with is another quality link — and they stack.

Now the honest part, because I won't pretend otherwise: this is the slow money. One link won't move you tomorrow. It builds over months and years — a two-to-three-year compounding effect, not a month-two miracle. The lad who connects with five trades this year is outranking the lad who connected with none, but he's reading that result next year, not next week. Let it build.

'Sounds like one of those Carlow guilds'

I get this every time, and it's a fair worry, so here's the straight answer. Trusted Trades is not a guild. It's not a membership, not an association, not a club you join. There's no fee, no committee, no meetings, no vote, no obligation, no fella ringing you to renew. You are in full control of who you connect with, and you can disconnect from anyone the second you want to, no questions asked. It's not an organisation you join — it's a tool you use. The difference matters, and I'd be wary of anything that blurred it too.

You already know good tradesmen and you already send them work. We just make that worth something to both of you — in jobs, and in Google.

It's a tool, not a club.

Who refers who

The connections that work are the natural ones — the trades that genuinely send each other work. Solar installers and electricians. Kitchen fitters and plumbers and tilers. Builders and everyone. We only ever connect across trades, never two of the same, because two electricians linking to each other helps nobody and Google sees straight through it. It has to be real to work, so we keep it real.
